[In Pictures] Shaheen Afridi visits Old Trafford; receives customised Manchester United jersey

Pakistan speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi recently visited the Old Trafford Football Stadium in Manchester. He also received a customised jersey from Manchester United with his name and jersey number printed on the back.

He has not enjoyed a great year so far, with Shaheen managing to pick up only five wickets across four games in the recently concluded ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Currently, he is on a break after the World Cup and will be in action in the first test against Bangladesh on August 21.

Manchester United recently invited Shaheen to Old Trafford in Manchester and gifted the pacer a customized jersey with the number 10 printed on the back, a number he has inherited from his father-in-law, Shahid Afridi.

Manchester United took to their social media and posted images of the Pakistani star with the following caption:

"The Eagle has landed 🦅🇵🇰. Great to see you at the Theatre of Dreams, @IShaheenAfridi10 — you’re welcome back anytime."

Shaheen Shah Afridi ousted from vice-captaincy, Saud Shakeel appointed as deputy to Shan Masood.

Pakistan recently announced their squad for their Test Series against Bangladesh and one of the most interesting developments in the squad was the removal of Shaheen Shah Afridi as vice-captain. Saud Shakeel has been appointed as deputy to Shan Masood for the Bangladesh Test series.

Shaheen has had a poor 2024 so far. Having been appointed as the skipper of Pakistan's T20 team, he lost the T20I series 1-4 and was stripped of his duties as the captain of the side. He did not enjoy a good time in this year's PSL and Men's T20 World Cup, as he had poor returns to show.

Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, starting on August 21. The two Tests are a part of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

The first Test will take place from August 21 to 25 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The second Test will take place from August 30 to September 3 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
