In another picture shared by social media content aggregator Mufaddal Vohra, Gill has been captured with senior Indian cricketer KL Rahul, Kishan and a couple of other friends.

Meanwhile, a video of the Punjab-born cricketer singing with great energy as part of his birthday celebrations has also gone viral on social media.

Speaking of his on-field performance, Gill captained India A against India B in the first round of the 2024 Duleep Trophy. The 25-year-old had a disappointing game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He was dismissed for 25 and 21 as India A lost the contest by 76 runs.

Shubman Gill has been picked in the Indian squad for the first Test against Bangladesh

Gill will be seen in action in international cricket when India take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series at home. The first game will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19 to September 23, while the second Test will be held at Green Park in Kanpur from September 27 to October 1.

The series will mark the return of keeper-batter Rishabh Pant to the Test format for the first time since his car accident in December 2022. Left-arm pacer Yash Dayal has also earned his maiden call-up to the Indian team, while Akash Deep, who had an impressive Duleep Trophy 2024 match, has also been picked.

Gill reckons that Bangladesh, who recently beat Pakistan 2-0 in an away series, cannot be taken lightly. Speaking to JioCinema, he commented:

"I don't think you can underestimate any international side. The kind of cricket Bangladesh has played in the last couple of months, especially in Pakistan, has been impressive. Their fast bowlers and the way their middle-order batters have absorbed pressure shouldn't be disregarded. So, I believe it will be an interesting and intriguing contest."

In 25 Test matches, the right-handed batter has scored 1492 runs at an average of 35.52, with four hundreds and six fifties.
