[In pictures] Team India enjoys wildlife tour in Zimbabwe ahead of 3rd IND vs ZIM T20I

Shubman Gill-led team India enjoyed a quality time in Zimbabwe ahead of the third T20I in Harare on Wednesday, July 10. The players, their families, and the VVS Laxman-led support staff went on a wildlife tour on Tuesday, July 9. The Men in Blue spent their day watching wild animals such as giraffes, deer, and elephants on their day off.

The reward came as the visitors bounced back to win the second T20I by 100 runs after losing the series opener by 13 runs. Sharing the post on X, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wrote:

“The BCCI, along with Zimbabwe Cricket and Zimbabwe Tourism, had organised a Wild Life Tour for the Indian Cricket Team & their families in Harare.”

“Great to be back on the winning note back again” – Shubman Gill sums up India’s performance against Zimbabwe in 2nd T20I

India captain Shubman Gill lauded his side for their clinical performance as they outclassed Zimbabwe in both departments in the second T20I. Gill lauded centurion Abhishek Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad for their terrific knocks as the visitors won by 100 runs.

The reaction came as Abhishek slammed 100 off 47 balls, while Gaikwad stayed unbeaten on 77 (47). Gill said in his post-match comments (via Cribuzz):

“Very happy, great to be back on the winning note back again. With the way Abhishek and Rutu batted, it was not easy especially in the powerplay, with the ball moving around but Abhi and Rutu built the innings brilliantly.
“It's a young side and many of them are new to international exposure. It was actually good to have pressure in the first game and we knew what to expect coming into this game. We have got three matches to go and we are looking forward to them,” he added.

When questioned about the selection dilemma following the return of 2024 T20 World Cup-winning players Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, Gill replied:

“It's always good to have more options rather than not having options.”

The third T20I between the two teams will begin at 4.30 pm IST on Wednesday.
