[In Pictures] Team India in practice ahead of the first IND vs BAN 2024 Test match

Team India had their preparatory camp held at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, ahead of their first Test on September 19. The photos of the same were posted by the official handle of the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) on social media.

The team gathered at the venue today, September 13. Team India's newest bowling coach, Morne Morkel, also joined the side before the series against Bangladesh gets underway.

The BCCI took to their official account on X and posted the images from the camp with the following caption:

"Snapshots from #TeamIndia's training session in Chennai ahead of the 1st Test against Bangladesh."

Yash Dayal gets a call-up to the Test side as Team India announce squad for the first Test against Bangladesh

Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Uttar Pradesh seamer Yash Dayal got the nod for the first of the two Test matches against Bangladesh. The pacer showed good form in the opening game of the 2024 Duleep Trophy, picking up four wickets across two innings and adding 26 runs batting lower down the order.

Along with Dayal, Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant also makes a comeback to the Test side. Should he play the first Test, the 26-year-old will feature in whites for the first time since 2022 after a horrific car crash restricted him from playing cricket for almost a year.

India's squad for the first Test against Bangladesh: Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, Yash Dayal.

Team India take on Bangladesh in the first Test, starting on September 19 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Thereafter, the two teams will face off at the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur, in the second Test starting September 27. Both Test matches are a part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC).
