[In Pictures] "Thank you for being a shoulder I can always lean on" - Rishabh Pant's sister shares heartwarming post on his birthday

Rishabh Pant’s sister Sakshi Pant shared previously unseen pictures of the two from her engagement ceremony to wish the former on his 27th birthday. The wicketkeeper batter was part of India’s playing XI against Bangladesh in the recently concluded two-match Test series.

After winning the first Test in Chennai, India hosted Bangladesh for the second game in Kanpur. Though the two sides only played two days in total due to inclement weather, India managed to clinch a memorable win on the fifth day of the Test.

Pant returned to his hometown, Roorkee, upon the conclusion of the second Test and will have some time off before India’s next Test sting against New Zealand. Notably, he is not a part of the squad that is set to face Bangladesh in the T20I series.

On his birthday on October 4, Pant’s elder sister Sakshi shared some beautiful pictures along with a heartwarming caption.

“Happy birthday to my bhaiyu♥️ who has always protected me even though I’m older than you! Thank you for being a shoulder I can always lean on no matter what. I love you so much.♥️♥️ Thank you for giving me strong wings to fly. Happy birthday bhaiyuu♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🎂🎂🎂. #rp17,” she wrote.

Rishabh Pant marked his Test comeback with a century at Chepauk

Rishabh Pant returned to the red-ball setup in the Chennai Test after a gap of 629 days following a life-changing car accident (2022). After a decent outing in the first innings, where he scored a 52-ball 39, the left-hander came out all guns blazing in the second, helping India set up a huge total for the visitors to chase.

Rishabh Pant joined hands with Shubman Gill as the duo shared a 167-run fourth-wicket stand. The keeper-batter was eventually dismissed for 109(128) but managed to make his comeback memorable as India bagged a massive 280-run win to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The hosts eventually won the series 2-0 after their win in the Kanpur Test.
