[In Pictures] Virat Kohli receives a portrait featuring himself, Anushka Sharma and their late pet dog from Sri Lankan artist
Team India's ace batter Virat Kohli was gifted special portraits from Sri Lankan artist Mueen Saheed during India's recently concluded three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. One of the portraits also featured his wife Anushka Sharma and their late pet dog Bruno.
One of Virat Kohli's fan clubs shared a post on the microblogging platform X, where the cricket star can be seen posing with the portraits alongside Saheed at the team hotel. The post also suggested that Kohli made arrangements for the family portrait to be sent to his home while leaving a signed painting behind in Colombo as a thank-you gesture.
It is worth mentioning that Kohli's pet dog Bruno was with him for 11 years. On May 6, 2020, the former Indian captain shared an Instagram post, announcing Bruno's demise.
On the cricketing front, Virat Kohli shone with the bat for India in the side's 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa. He was adjudged the Player of the Match for his clutch knock of 76 runs in the summit clash.
The Men in Blue trumped South Africa by seven runs in the final. Kohli announced his retirement from T20Is following the showpiece event. He returned to action with the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka following a short break.
However, the 35-year-old performed underwhelmingly, finishing with just 58 runs across three matches. Sri Lanka won the series 2-0, securing their first ODI series over India in 27 years.
