Team India captain Rohit Sharma attended the men's singles semi-finals of Wimbledon 2024 on Friday in London. He was last seen on the cricket field during the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa in Barbados. Rohit joined the elite club of Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni to become the third Indian captain to win the coveted World Cup trophy for the nation.
The players received a grand reception on returning to India on July 4 as World Champions. They also participated in a victory parade in Mumbai, attended by thousands of fans on the streets. After celebrating the memorable triumph, Rohit traveled abroad with his family for a vacation to rejuvenate himself after a hectic schedule.
During his time away from cricket, Rohit was spotted in the stands at Wimbledon, watching the semi-final match between Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz. Wimbledon's official Instagram page gave a glimpse of Rohit Sharma from the venue by sharing a couple of pictures this evening.

"This trophy is for him" - Kuldeep Yadav lauds Rohit Sharma's leadership after 2024 T20 World Cup triumph
Team India left-arm leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav recently heaped praise on the leadership credentials of Rohit Sharma after he lifted the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy in Barbados, his first as captain in international cricket.
Speaking to Sports Today, Kuldeep dedicated the World Cup win to his captain, saying:
“This World Cup was for him, the way he planned and the way he loved this team. The intent and approach that he used to talk about in team meetings, he implemented that in the tournament while batting, led from the front. So this trophy is for him. There is probably no better feeling than this. In the final Virat bhai hit the 70-odd runs, won the player of the match."
On the World Cup celebrations and victory parade in Mumbai, Kuldeep added:
"I'll never forget it. It was the first time I experienced something like that. Rohit bhai probably experienced that earlier as he had won in 2007. What happened in Mumbai was just unreal for me."
After ending his T20I career on a high, Rohit Sharma will now shift his focus onto ODI and Test formats with the Champions Trophy and WTC final, coming up next year.
