IND vs AUS: India and Australia's last match scorecard in Women's T20 World Cup 2024
India will take on Australia in the fourth and final group-stage game at the ongoing 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup in Sharjah on Sunday, October 13. Australia are currently leading the points table with three consecutive wins over Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Pakistan.
India, too, are on the winning trend after losing their opening game to White Ferns. They bounced back strongly with victories over Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The two teams have locked horns on five occasions in the 20-over tournament. The Aussies lead the head-to-head contests by a 3-2 margin.
Meg Lanning-led Australia beat India by five runs when the two teams last locked horns in the 2023 T20 World Cup.
Batting first, Australia posted 172/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Beth Mooney starred with the bat, scoring 54 runs off 37 balls, comprising one six and seven boundaries. Skipper Meg Lanning also hit an unbeaten 49 off 34, hitting two sixes and four boundaries. Ashleigh Gardner and Alyssa Healy also chipped in with 31 (18) and 25 (26), respectively.
Shikha Pandey emerged as the leading wicket-taker for the Women in Blue, picking up two wickets, while Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav bagged one wicket apiece.
In response, India managed 167/8. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur top scored with 52 off 34, including one six and six boundaries. Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh chipped in with 43 (24), 20* (17), and 14 (17), respectively, but failed to take the team over the line. Ashleigh Gardner and Darcie Brown were the pick of the Australian bowlers, scalping two wickets each, while Megan Schutt and Jess Jonassen bagged one apiece.
Australia's scorecard from their last T20 World Cup match
Australia thrashed Pakistan by nine wickets in their last T20 World Cup outing in Dubai on Friday, October 11.
Asked to bat first, the Women in Green were bundled out for 82 in 19.5 overs. Aliya Riaz top scored with 26 off 32 deliveries, comprising three boundaries. Sidra Ameen, Iram Javed and Nida Dar were the other players to reach double digits.
Ashleigh Gardner starred with the ball for the Aussies, finishing with exceptional figures of 4/21, while Annabel Sutherland and Georgia Wareham bagged two wickets apiece. Megan Schutt and Sophie Molineux also scalped one each.
In response, Australia achieved the target with nine overs to spare. Captain Alyssa Healy scored 37 off 23 balls before getting retired hurt. Ellyse Perry and Beth Mooney also contributed 22* (23) and run-a-ball 15, respectively. Sadia Iqbal took the solitary wicket for Pakistan.

India's scorecard from their last T20 World Cup game
India thumped Sri Lanka by 82 runs in their last T20 World Cup game in Dubai on Wednesday, October 9.
Opting to bat first, the Women in Blue posted 172/3 in their allotted 20 overs. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored a quickfire 52 off 27 deliveries, a knock laced with one six and eight boundaries. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma also chipped in with 50 (38) and 43 (40), respectively. Chamari Athapaththu and Ama Kanchana bagged one wicket apiece for the Islanders.
In response, Sri Lanka were bundled out for 90 in 19.5 overs. Kavisha Dilhari, Anushka Sanjeewani and Ama Kanchana chipped in with 21 (22), 20 (22) and 19 (22), respectively, but failed to get the team going in the chase.
Arundhati Reddy and Asha Sobhana bagged three wickets apiece for India, while Renuka Singh Thakur scalped two. Shreyanka Patil and Deepti Sharma also picked up one wicket each.
