IND vs PAK: Scorecard, Highlights and Results of India and Pakistan’s last match in 2023 World Cup

India will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in the 2023 World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 11. The two teams are coming off the back consecutive wins.

India beat Australia by six wickets before registering an eight-wicket win over Afghanistan in their first two games. Similarly, Pakistan defeated the Netherlands by 81 runs before a comprehensive win against Sri Lanka by six wickets. Thus, the two teams are fully loaded for a high-voltage Indo-Pak game.

As far as the ODI World Cups are concerned, India enjoy a 7-0 record against Pakistan in the marquee ICC event. The Men in Blue beat Pakistan by 89 runs via the DLS method in the last edition of the World Cup.

Batting first, Rohit Sharma starred with the bat scoring 140 runs off 113 deliveries, including three sixes and 14 boundaries.

He shared a 136-run partnership with KL Rahul (57 off 78) for the opening wicket before stitching a 98-run stand for the second wicket with Virat Kohli (77 off 65). Team India eventually posted 336/5 in their allotted 50 overs.

Mohammad Amir starred with the ball for Pakistan, finishing with figures of 3/47, while Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz settled for one wicket apiece.

In response, Pakistan could only manage 212/6 in 40 overs (reduced due to rain). Fakhar Zaman top-scored with 62 off 75, including one six and seven boundaries. Babar Azam and Imad Wasim also chipped in with 48 (57) and 46 (39), respectively.

Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets apiece for the Men in Blue.

India's scorecard from their last 2023 World Cup game

India beat Afghanistan by eight wickets in their last outing at the 2023 World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on October 11.

Batting first, Afghanistan posted 272/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi led from the front, scoring 80 runs off 88 balls, including one six and eight boundaries. Azmatullah Omarzai also chipped in with 62 runs off 69 deliveries, comprising four sixes and two boundaries.

Jasprit Bumrah emerged as the pick of the bowlers for India, finishing with figures of 4/39, while Hardik Pandya took two wickets. Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav settled for one wicket apiece.

In response, a clinical batting performance from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ishan Kishan helped the Men in Blue chase the target with 15 overs to spare.

Rohit Sharma starred with the bat, scoring 131 off 84, including five sixes and 16 boundaries.

The skipper also shared a 156-run partnership with his opening partner Ishan Kishan (run-a-ball 47) for the opening wicket. He also stitched a 49-run partnership with Virat Kohli (55 off 56) for the second wicket. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 25 off 23.

Meanwhile, Rashid Khan starred with the ball for Afghanistan, returning with figures of 2/57.

Pakistan's scorecard from their last 2023 World Cup game

Babar Azam and Co. are coming off the back of a six-wicket win against Sri Lanka at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on October 10.

Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 344/9 in their allotted 50 overs. Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama starred with the bat, scoring 122 (77) and 108 (89), respectively. Pathum Nissanka also chipped in with 51 off 61 balls.

Hasan Ali starred with the ball, finishing with figures of 4/71, while Haris Rauf picked up two wickets. Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan settled for one wicket apiece.

In response, Pakistan lost Imam-ul-Haq (run-a-ball 12) and captain Babar Azam (10 off 15) cheaply. Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan, though, stood tall with the bat.

Shafique smashed 113 off 103, including three sixes and 10 boundaries. Rizwan remained unbeaten on 131 off 121, including three sixes and eight boundaries. Together, the duo shared 176 runs for the third wicket to pull Pakistan back into the game.

Saud Shakeel and Iftikhar Ahmed also chipped in with scores of 31 (30) and 22 (10), respectively. In the end, Pakistan won by six wickets with 10 balls to spare.

Dilshan Madushanka picked up two wickets for Sri Lanka, while Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana scalped one apiece.
