IND vs PAK: Scorecard, Highlights and Results of India and Pakistan’s last matches in 2024 T20 World Cup
India will lock horns with Pakistan in a high-voltage T20 World Cup clash at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday (June 9). The two teams are coming on the back of contrasting performances in the mega ICC event. The Men in Blue thrashed Ireland by eight wickets in a one-sided affair. However, Babar Azam and Co. were stunned by the USA in a Super Over thriller.
India and Pakistan have locked horns seven times in T20 World Cups. The Men in Green trail India by 1:5 in head-to-head battles. One match ended in a tie when the famous bowled-out event happened in the inaugural T20 World Cup.
Rohit Sharma and Co. beat Pakistan by four wickets in a last-ball thriller when the two teams last locked horns in Melbourne during the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Asked to bat first, Pakistan posted 159/8 in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh dismissed Mohammad Rizwan and skipper Babar Azam early. Half centurions Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed then shared a 76-run partnership for the third wicket to recover Pakistan from 15/2.
Masood scored 52 off 42 balls, including five boundaries. Iftikhar hit a quickfire 51 off 34 deliveries with the help of four sixes and two boundaries. Pakistan then witnessed a cluster of wickets fall. Shaheen Afridi's 16 off 8 helped the Men in Green post a 150+ total.
Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya starred with the ball for India, returning with three wickets apiece. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami bagged one wicket apiece.
In response, India achieved the target off the last ball. Skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul departed for identical scores of four as Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf struck early.
Virat Kohli stood tall as wickets continued to fall on the other end. The right-hander stayed unbeaten on 82 off 53 to take his team past the finish line. His innings comprised four sixes and six boundaries. The 35-year-old smashed two sixes off Haris Rauf when India needed 28 off the last eight deliveries.
Hardik Pandya also played his part, scoring 40 off 37, including two sixes and a boundary.
Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz bagged two wickets apiece for Pakistan, while Naseem Shah settled for a solitary wicket.
India’s scorecard from their last 2024 T20 World Cup match
India beat Ireland by eight wickets in their last T20 World Cup match in New York on June 5.
Invited to bat first, Ireland were bundled out for 96 in 16 overs. Gareth Delany top scored with 26 off 14 balls, while Josh Little, Curtis Campher and Lorcan Tucker chipped in with double digits.
Hardik Pandya returned as the pick of the bowlers for the Men in Blue, scalping three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah bagged two wickets each. Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel also shared one apiece.
In response, India achieved the target with 7.4 overs to spare. They lost Virat Kohli cheaply but Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant looked solid. Sharma scored an unbeaten 52 off 37, including three sixes and four boundaries. He walked off retired hurt due to an injury.
Meanwhile, Pant stayed unbeaten on 36 off 26, including two maximums and three fours. The left-hander smashed a reverse scoop six to take his team over the line. Suryakumar Yadav departed for two off four deliveries.
Mark Adair and Benjamin White bagged one wicket each for Ireland.

Pakistan’s scorecard from their last 2024 T20 World Cup game
Pakistan lost to the USA by five runs in a Super Over during their last T20 World Cup clash in Dallas on June 6.
Asked to bat first, Pakistan scored 159/7 in 20 overs. Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Khan departed cheaply. Skipper Babar Azam led from the front, scoring 44 off 43, featuring two sixes and three boundaries.
Shadab Khan smashed 40 off 25 in an innings comprising three sixes and one boundary. Shaheen Afridi and Iftikhar Ahmed chipped in with 23* (16) and 18 (14), respectively.
Nosthush Kenjige was the pick of the USA bowlers, finishing with exceptional figures of 3/30, while Saurabh Netravalkar bagged two wickets.
In response, the USA chased down the target off the last delivery. Skipper Monank Patel led by example, scoring 50 off 38 with the help of one six and seven boundaries. Andries Gous also scored 35 off 26, including one six and five boundaries.
Aaron Jones and Nitish Kumar stayed unbeaten on 36 (26) and run-a-ball 14, respectively, to take the team past the finish line. The duo scored 14 runs off Haris Rauf off the last over.
Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah and Rauf scalped one wicket each for Pakistan.
In the Super Over, the USA scored 18 runs off Amir, including three wides and four byes. Netravalkar then led the USA to a famous five-run win in the Super Over as Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan failed to deliver. Milind Kumar took a stunning catch to dismiss Iftikhar.
