"There is a lack of confidence" - Wasim Jaffer on Virat Kohli's form

Former Indian opener and cricket expert Wasim Jaffer has dissected Virat Kohli's lean patch after yet another unlucky dismissal against Sri Lanka in the pink-ball Test in Bengaluru.

Kohli was looking good for his 23, but got an absolutely unplayable delivery that didn't bounce much and hit him in front of his stumps. Wasim Jaffer claims that there is nothing wrong with the 33-year-old's technique and that it is just a matter of him gaining some confidence.

Speaking to ESPNCricinfo on Sunday, here's what Jaffer had to say about Virat Kohli's form:

"There is nothing like that (on whether there are flaws in Kohli's technique). He doesn't have enough runs under his belt and there is a lack of confidence. The kind of runs that we expect from Kohli is not seen. Once he gets to that hundred and he finds form, I am quite sure that we will get to see the old Virat Kohli."
This Test match looks more like Kohli-Bengaluru crowd meet up.

Shreyas Iyer's knock not the best by an Indian in recent times: Wasim Jaffer

Shreyas Iyer played a sensational knock of 92 on a rank turner in Bengaluru. Batting superbly with the tail, the 27-year-old took the attack to the Sri Lankan spinners and didn't let them dictate terms.

some 90s worth more than hundreds.💙💜 That's it..

While Wasim Jaffer agreed that it was a top performance from Iyer, he rated many other knocks by Rishabh Pant higher than that of the 27-year-old.

Here's what he had to say about this:

"I don't think so (on Shreyas Iyer's knock being the best by an Indian in recent times). There are many knocks of Rishabh Pant that have been magnificent. But definitely if you see the context of this Test match and the direction in which it is going, then it is a great knock."

India are in complete control of the pink-ball Test as the visitors are reeling at 86/6. Sri Lanka will need to bat really well if they want to push the game beyond Day 3.
