India’s schedule for 2025 Champions Trophy: Date, venues and timings in IST
Team India will be taking part in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which will be played in Pakistan and Dubai. All matches involving the Men in Blue will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, according to a new pact in place for both India and Pakistan when playing in ICC events.
Team India are the joint-most successful team alongside Australia in the Champions Trophy with two titles each. The Men in Blue shared the title with Sri Lanka in 2002 when there was not enough play possible to constitute a match and then won again in 2013 when they beat England at Edgbaston. They also finished as the runners-up in the 2017 edition, where they lost to Pakistan by 180 runs and in 2000, where they went down to New Zealand by four wickets.
Ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy, there was an air of uncertainty over India's participation in the event hosted by Pakistan due to tension between the two states. However, ICC was able to meet a common ground, with the two nations to be provided with a neutral venue when either hosts ICC events.
ICC in their most recent press release announced that the Dubai International Cricket Stadium will be playing host to the Men in Blues' fixtures during the upcoming Champions Trophy. Team India are pitted in Group A alongside Bangladesh, New Zealand and Pakistan.
The two-time winners open their campaign on February 20 against Bangladesh followed by the highly anticipated clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23. Team India will play their last match of the league stages against New Zealand on March 2. All the matches will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, starting at 2:30 pm IST.
Additionally, should Team India qualify for the semi-finals, they will be playing in the first game on March 4 and should they go on to make it to the final, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium will play the host. Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore will be replaced as a venue in that case.
