India vs Sri Lanka 2024, 3rd T20I: Toss result and playing XIs for today's match, umpires list and pitch report
India will take on Sri Lanka in the third and final T20I of the three-match series at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, July 30. The Men in Blue are 2-0 up in the series and will look to register a clean sweep. Hosts Sri Lanka may have lost the series, but they still have pride to play for and will be keen to avoid a whitewash.
Team India were clinical with the ball in the second T20I. Fielding first after winning the toss, they restricted Sri Lanka to 161-9. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi starred with 3-26, while Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya claimed two scalps each. In a shortened chase, India raced to their target of 78 in 6.3 overs.
Sri Lanka have had their moments in both the matches, but their middle-order batting has let them down. After losing nine for 30 in the first T20I, they went from 80-1 to 161-9 in the second match. Barring the top three, the other Sri Lankan batters have hardly one anything in the two matches.

“It looks like a dry pitch and with the weather around [we want to bowl first].”
Sri Lanka have made one change to their playing XI. Chamindu Wickramasinghe comes in for Dasun Shanaka. With the series in the bag, India have decided to rest Hardik Pandya Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant and Arshdeep Singh.

According to Russel Arnold, while the rain has been blown away by a strong wind, there can be intermittent shower as the day goes on. Arnold reckons that the surface is a lot drier compared to the last one. It will be on the slower side and there should be turn as well. He also points out that there’s dew around. Arnold believes that chasing would be the better option as the game could be a shortened one, and 160 or 170 might be a decent score.
