The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered a comprehensive 69-run win over the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Match 22 of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020).

After SRH captain David Warner won the toss and elected to bat, he and fellow opener Jonny Bairstow got the team off to a blazing start. The Australian, who has a stellar record against KXIP, attacked initially before settling into a supporting role.

Bairstow cut loose after a couple of overs as he took the attack to even the best KXIP bowlers. The Englishman played an array of shots all round the ground, and took the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Ravi Bishnoi to the cleaners. After failing to pick up a single wicket against the Chennai Super Kings, the KXIP bowlers took 15 overs to finally get a breakthrough in this game.

Warner's dismissal triggered a mini-collapse, with Bairstow and Pandey falling soon after for 97 and 1 respectively. A few big hits from Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma took SRH past the 200-run mark, with all of the KXIP bowlers conceding runs at an economy rate of over 8.

KL Rahul's side got off to a horrible start in the run-chase, as the captain sold his partner Mayank Agarwal down the river. Rahul played a rash sweep that found a fielder in the deep, while a promotion for Prabhsimran Singh didn't pay off.

Nicholas Pooran sparked hope of a comeback for KXIP as the West Indian smashed 5 fours and 7 sixes en route to a 37-ball 77. However, with his dismissal at the hands of Rashid Khan in the 15th over, KXIP's fortunes all but died. Glenn Maxwell's nightmare IPL 2020 run continued as he managed only 7 runs off 12 balls and conceded 26 runs in his 2 overs.

Twitter had a lot to say, and here are the best reactions from the SRH vs KXIP IPL 2020 game.
