Big-hitting West Indian batter Shimron Hetmyer colored his hair pink as he joined the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season.

Apart from his impressive batting skills, the Windies youngster is also known as someone who loves to experiment with his looks, especially his hair.

On Sunday, RR’s Instagram handle posted a picture of Hetmyer pointing to his pink hair as he arrived to prepare for the IPL 2022 season. Sharing a cheeky caption for the 25-year-old, RR wrote:

According to young RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, the franchise has put together a team that is capable of winning the IPL this year.

The 20-year-old was one of three players retained by Rajasthan ahead of the mega auction. Speaking on the team’s chances, he was quoted as saying by Sportstar:

β€œI’m really looking forward to this season with great confidence and hope. We have managed to create a team that has everything in it to win the trophy. We’ve got a team which can produce performances on the field, but the most important thing for us right now is to start well and create momentum for ourselves.”

The left-hander had a decent IPL season last year, scoring 249 runs from 10 matches at a strike rate of 148.21 and an average of 24.90.

RR recently hired Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga as their fast bowling coach for the IPL 2022 season. Rajasthan will begin their campaign this season by taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Pune on March 29.
