IPL 2023 Orange Cap and Purple Cap standings after Mumbai Indians vs SunRisers Hyderabad

Mumbai Indians (MI) finished their league stage with an eight-wicket win over the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, May 21.

MI skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. Hyderabad's latest opening pair of Mayank Agarwal and Vivrant Sharma then got the side off to a stunning start after putting on 140 runs for the first wicket.

SRH were poised to post a mammoth total, but MI pulled things back courtesy of Akash Madhwal's sensational death bowling. SRH ended with exactly 200 on the board following a last-ball six by Sanvir Singh.

MI lost Ishan Kishan early in the chase but Cameron Green, coming in at No.3 completely turned the tide with a brilliant counter-attacking knock. The hosts coasted to win after a dominating 128-run partnership for the second wicket between Green and Rohit Sharma.

The Australian all-rounder scored his maiden IPL hundred as MI wrapped up the run chase with three overs to spare.
