IPL 2023 weather update: Chennai weather report on May 23 for today's CSK vs GT clash
An uninterrupted game beckons fans when the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) square off against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday, May 23.
GT were the team to beat in the league stages of IPL 2023. They finished at the top of the points table with 20 points from 14 games, courtesy of 10 wins and four defeats.
Hardik Pandya and Co. defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their last group fixture, ending Faf du Plessis and Co.'s campaign. After Virat Kohli reduced Gujarat's star-studded bowling to an ordinary one with a stunning hundred, Shubman Gill came up with a brilliant response. The youngster scored a match-winning century to take GT home.
CSK, on the other hand, shrugged off their last year's failure and came up with a much-improved performance in this year's cash-rich league. They finished second in the table with 17 points, winning eight and losing five while their game against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was called off due to rain.
MS Dhoni and Co. are also coming into the contest on the back of a win against the Delhi Capitals (DC). CSK will be brimming with confidence after a good run in the league stage and will be eying the final berth after being knocked out from the group phase last year.
