IPL 2024 Playoffs: Schedule, venues and timings in IST
The league stage of IPL 2024, which began on March 22, concluded on Sunday, May 19. Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Punjab Kings by four wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in the day match of the double-header.
The evening clash between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati was, however, abandoned due to rain after the toss, without a ball being bowled.
While four teams had already qualified for the IPL 2024 playoffs ahead of Sunday's double-header, the tussle for the second spot between SRH and RR was very much on.
Eventually, Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched the second place by virtue of their triumph over Punjab Kings, finishing the league stage with 17 points. RR also ended with 17 points but were placed third due to their lower net run rate.
