IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Full list of purses remaining for all 10 franchises after retention day
The list of retained players was announced by all the ten IPL franchises on Thursday, October 31. Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are some of the big names that will enter the IPL 2025 auction after being released by their respective teams.
The IPL Governing Council mandated teams to submit their retention list by 5:00 pm IST on October 31, with a maximum of six retentions available. Should the teams retain any less than the stipulated number, then they will be awarded a Right to Match (RTM) card to get back their desired player at the IPL 2025 mega auction. All franchises were allocated ₹120 crore to build their team for IPL 2025, up from ₹90 crore last season.
The Chennai Super Kings were one of the most followed franchises regarding whom they retained. With five retentions, they have spent ₹55 crore and have a purse of ₹65 crore remaining. Mumbai Indians have also gone with five retentions and have shelled out ₹75 crore, having ₹45 crores in the bank.
Defending Champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have retained the maximum number of players, thus exhausting their RTM options. IPL 2014 finalists Punjab Kings have retained only Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh for a combined ₹9.5 crore, thus leaving them with a total purse of ₹110.5 crores.
