IPL 2025 mega auction: Who are the youngest and oldest players in the final list?

There's a difference of 29 years between the oldest and youngest players who have made it to the final list of the IPL 2025 auction, announced on Friday (November 15). The event will take place in Riyadh on November 24-25 and will see 574 players go under the hammer for 204 remaining slots in the 10 teams.

The youngest player is Bihar's batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who is only 13 years and 233 days old on the date of the release of the final list. The left-hander came into the limelight with a century for India under-19 against Australia U19 in a youth Test in Chennai on September 30.

The oldest is England's recently retired bowling legend, James Anderson, at 42 years and 108 days. He didn't retire from international sport voluntarily but was told by the England team management that they had decided to move on. The right-arm quick then joined the team as a traveling bowling consultant.

“That’s the whole point of going in the auction, I think, I want to play cricket again. Whether I get picked up or not is a different matter. There’s definitely a feeling inside of me that I’ve got more to offer, in some shape or form,” Anderson told Sky Sports recently.
“So, however long down the line that might be, in whatever capacity that might be I’m not sure yet. But I’m really keen to play. I feel really fit, I’ve been bowling still, ticking over, so I feel like I’m in a good place and I’d love to have an opportunity to play somewhere,” he added.

Anderson last played a T20 in August 2014 while Suryavanshi doesn't have any T20 on record.
