Is Kuldeep Yadav playing today's IND vs USA 2024 T20 World Cup match?

Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav has not been included in Team India's playing XI for the T20 World Cup 2024 clash against the USA. The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York will host the game on Wednesday, June 12.

Kuldeep hasn't played any game so far in the World Cup, with the management going in with Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel in the first two games against Ireland and Pakistan to strengthen their batting unit.

They have stuck to a similar spin attack against the USA for their penultimate group encounter. Thus, Kuldeep will have to wait for his chances to make a mark in the global tournament.

Kuldeep Yadav came to the T20 World Cup 2024 on the back of a stellar IPL 2024 campaign with the Delhi Capitals (DC). He picked up 16 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 8.70, with the best figures of 4/55 against the SunRisers Hyderabad.

He has also been in spectacular form for the Men in Blue in the last 12 months. The left-arm leg-spinner has played seven matches during this period and has picked up 13 wickets at an average of 12.76. His best figures of 5/17 came against South Africa in Johannesburg in December last year.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first against the USA in the final game at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

The Men in Blue have fielded an unchanged playing XI, while the co-hosts made two changes. Skipper Monank Patel and Nosthush Kenjige missed out, with Shayan Jahangir and Shadley van Schalkwyk replacing them.

India's Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammed Siraj.

USA's Playing XI: Steven Taylor, Shayan Jahangir, Andries Gous (wk), Aaron Jones (c), Nitish Kumar, Corey Anderson, Harmeet Singh, Shadley van Schalkwyk, Jasdeep Singh, Saurabh Netravalkar, and Ali Khan.
