Is Rachin Ravindra playing today's CSK vs LSG IPL 2024 match?
Rachin Ravindra has been left out of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) playing XI for their game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday (April 23).
The all-rounder, though, made it to the five-member impact players' list. Meanwhile, Daryl Mitchell replaced him in the playing XI. This also means that captain Ruturaj Gaikwad will return to the opening spot alongside Ajinkya Rahane.
Rachin has failed to fire with the bat for the Super Kings after replacing injured Devon Conway, who was ruled out of the IPL 2024 season. The left-handed batter has managed just 133 runs in seven matches at an average of 19 so far.
At the toss, Gaikwad said:
"One change for us - Daryl comes in for Rachin."
Mitchell has scored 135 runs in six matches at an average of 27 so far. The all-rounder has also bagged one wicket.
LSG opt to bowl against CSK in IPL 2024 match
Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bowl against Chennai Super Kings in IPL on Tuesday. The Super Giants fielded an unchanged side following their eight-wicket win over the Super Kings in their last game in Lucknow. At the toss, Rahul said:
"We'll bowl first. There is a bit of dew, we have trained here and there is a bit of dew that will play an impact. The wicket is a bit slow and hopefully, we can put their batters under pressure."
He continued:
"We played well in all three facets, but we have left the result back in Lucknow. We know have challenging Chennai is, everyone will be cheering for them."
Both CSK and LSG have managed four wins in the first seven games and are placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the points table based on the net run rate.
Lucknow will be looking to continue their winning run while Chennai would be keen to register their fourth consecutive victory at home ground and return to winning ways.
