"Isss bar ye situation me PAPA aage aa gaye"- Suryakumar Yadav reacts to Axar Patel's Gujarat government felicitation ceremony post

Team India's T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, recently had an interesting reaction to his teammate Axar Patel's Instagram post about his felicitation ceremony. Gujarat government organized it to celebrate the accomplishments of their local player, who played a crucial role in India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning campaign.

Axar was the team's crisis man in the batting department. He saved the team from collapsing on multiple occasions and contributed critical runs, even in the summit clash against South Africa. With the ball, Axar Patel bowled in all phases and provided vital breakthroughs for his side.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel honored him on Wednesday for his wonderful contributions to the Indian cricket team's success. Axar Patel's father, Rajesh Patel, attended the event on his son's behalf. Taking to his official Instagram handle, Axar shared a video to give his fans a glimpse of the event and expressed gratitude for his father's support. He wrote in the caption:

"Yesterday was a very special day. The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri @bhupendrapbjp honoured my father on my behalf, and I can't express in words what a moment of pride this is for me."
"He's the reason I started playing cricket and the person I owe everything in my life to. Thank you, Papa, for being my greatest inspiration. તમારા જેવા કોઈ નથી "

Axar Patel played under Suryakumar Yadav's captaincy in the T20I series against Sri Lanka last month

After Rohit Sharma's retirement from the shortest format following the T20 World Cup victory in June, selectors appointed Suryakumar Yadav as India's T20I captain. His tenure began on a high with a 3-0 series victory against Sri Lanka last month. Axar Patel also took on the mantle of India's leading spin-bowling all-rounder in T20Is during the series as Ravindra Jadeja also retired after the World Cup.

After a mini-break from the field after the Sri Lanka tour, Surya and Axar will make a comeback during the upcoming Duleep Trophy.
