"It could be Rohit Sharma's time from here on"- Harbhajan Singh expects MI skipper to step up vs RCB

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh feels Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma will raise his game to the next level against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, May 9.

In 10 games so far this season, Rohit has scored just 184 runs at a paltry average of 18.40 and a poor strike rate of 126.89. He has also registered the most ducks in IPL history and has been going through a torrid time of late.

However, Harbhajan Singh explained how motivated Rohit Sharma would be to step up for his team in a crunch game against RCB. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said:

"Rohit Sharma is having his worst IPL season so far. But whatever happened till now needs to be forgotten as it could be Rohit Sharma's time from here on. It is a very crucial game for both sides as a loss here would make their remaining games do-or-die."

Harbhajan Singh expects Tim David and Piyush Chawla to have an impact vs RCB

While previewing the MI vs RCB game, Harbhajan Singh also spoke about how well Tim David and Piyush Chawla have performed to help their team stay alive in the race to the playoffs.

David has been simply sensational down the order, while Chawla's wickets and consistency have helped MI win some crucial games. On this, he stated:

"Tim David has scored runs at a quick rate and also lower down the order in crunch situations. If is not easy to come in this situation and deliver. Piyush Chawla has been simply sensational so far. I feel he is going to have a huge impact tonight. Out of 22-23 wickets that MI have picked, 16-17 have been picked by Chawla itself."

The winner of this game will rise to the third position in the IPL 2023 points table and strengthen their case for a top-four finish.
