"It's always nice to start the summer off positively"- Australia pacer Mitchell Starc after win vs Pakistan in 1st ODI 2024
At the post-match presentation, Australian pacer Mitchell Starc received the Player of the Match award for his brilliant three-wicket spell. Reflecting on the win and his bowling performance, Starc said:
"It's always nice to start the summer off positively with the group. We know powerplay wickets are the way to go in ODIs sometimes. The match swung away at the end, maybe it was a bit sloppy from us in the field too but we got the job done."
He added:
"We still thought it was under par. The guys started really well with the bat. It's a very big summer with a Test series and a few more white-ball games. Always excited to get the red ball back in my hand."
The two teams will now travel to Adelaide for the second ODI, which will be held on Friday, November 8.
