Jaydev Unadkat offers clarification on X user misquoting his 'You are ONLY given a car & a flat' statement

Indian left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat offered clarification to an X user, who misquoted his statements from a recent interview, through his social media handle. The 32-year-old mentioned how he had to take care of his daily chores in the UK compared to India, while being granted a flat to stay in and a car to drive around.

However, the X user twisted Unadkat's statements in a way that seemingly indicated that the pacer was getting privileges without the hardships. It led to fans on social media going at Unadkat, leading to him responding to the X user and offering clarification.

Here is Unadkat's statement in the interview with TOI:

"When we are playing in India, we have liaison officers who take care of everything. But while playing county cricket in the UK, while you are given a flat to stay in and a car to drive around, you have to take care of everything else on your own. From living on my own to making my breakfast and doing my laundry, staying there taught me to be self-dependent."

He added:

"It's a different experience altogether and I enjoyed every bit of it. I like to cook and enjoy the process. While I can't make the regular roti-sabji, I love to experiment in the kitchen and make some interesting dishes.

However, the post from the user became misleading to several fans.

"While playing county cricket in UK, you have to take care of everything on your own. From living on my own to making my breakfast and doing my laundry, staying there taught me to be self-dependent. It’s a different experience altogether. You are only given a flat to stay in and a car to drive around," posted the X user.

Unadkat finally responded to the user with the below post on his X handle:

Jaydev Unadkat has played 22 games for India across formats after debuting in the Test series in South Africa in 2010.
