"Jos Buttler is competing with Duckman Rohit Sharma"- Fans roast RR opener after his 3rd consecutive duck in IPL 2023
Rajasthan Royals' (RR) Jos Buttler faced the wrath of fans after he failed yet again with the bat in the ongoing IPL 2023. In the match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday, May 19, the English white-ball captain got out for a 4-ball duck as Kagiso Rabada trapped him LBW in the second over.
PBKS batted first after losing the toss and reached 187/5 in 20 overs. Sam Curran (49*), Jitesh Sharma (44), and Shahrukh Khan (41*) played useful knocks for the Punjab side in the batting department. In the steep chase, Rajasthan Royals got off to a brisk start as Yashasvi Jaiswal hit three fours in the first over against Sam Curran.
His opening partner Jos Buttler couldn't replicate the same levels of fluency as he struggled against Kagiso Rabada. The Proteas pacer beat him consistently before trapping him LBW off the fourth ball. It was the fifth duck for Jos Buttler this season, as he continued his poor run of form in RR's final league game of the season.
After winning the Orange Cap last season with stellar batting performances, Buttler has endured a lean run in IPL 2023, especially considering his lofty standards. Across 14 matches, he has scored 392 runs at an average of 28, including four half-centuries. Fans took notice of Jos Buttler's failure against PBKS and expressed their reactions on Twitter.

"When I went in, we knew we had lost wickets but I knew it was a good wicket" - PBKS finisher Shahrukh Khan after 41* vs RR
Speaking at mid-innings break, PBKS' Shahrukh Khan reflected on his blazing cameo in the death overs against Rajasthan Royals, saying:
"When I went in, we knew we had lost wickets, but I knew it was a good wicket. We played the last match and we saw there were a lot of runs. Sam [and] I thought of taking it deep. Wickets in hand would have helped but I think this is a good score on this wicket. It seams in the first four or five overs. If our new ball bowlers put it in the right areas, I think it'll be difficult to chase.
"I thought that Yuzvendra Chahal would bowl earlier but I didn't expect Sanju would keep him for the death. There is a lot of planning for the death but today, I think it was good from us. 100 percent, I think 187 is a good score. The last game I think we gave too many runs but I think this is a par score on this pitch."
