Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bat first on a flat surface earlier in the night. Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib dismissed Abhishek Sharma (4) in the third over to give the visitors an early breakthrough in the contest.

However, things went south for them after that, as Suryakumar Yadav joined Sanju Samson in the middle to wreak havoc on the Bangladesh bowling attack. The duo played aggressive shots relentlessly and put on a magnificent 173-run partnership for the second wicket to lay down a sensational platform for India.

Sanju Samson utilized the chance at last and showcased his true potential in T20Is with an astonishing knock of 111 (47), his maiden century in the format for India. Suryakumar Yadav played a typical innings, smashing his way to 75 (35).

After the duo perished in the second half of the innings, Hardik Pandya took over the charge and provided a strong finish with a blazing cameo of 47 (18). Riyan Parag provided able support to him with a fiery contribution of 34 (13), exhibiting his big-hitting skills.
