"Justice for Sanju Samson" - Top 10 funny memes after Samson's twin ducks in the T20I series against Sri Lanka

Team India wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson failed to utilize the chances he got in the recently concluded T20I series against Sri Lanka. The Kerala cricketer was not picked for the first match but was included in the playing XI for the next two games. However, he wasted the opportunities, getting out for a 0 (1) and 0 (4) in those T20Is.

The 29-year-old has displayed immense potential with his magnificent performances in IPL over the years but has yet to showcase the same in T20Is for India. Due to high competition for spots in the playing XI, Samson never got a consistent run in the side. However, he also never really strengthened his case whenever he got the chance.

Sanju has scored 440 runs across 30 T20Is at a poor average of 19.30, including two half-centuries. It might be difficult for him to get more chances with such numbers, considering the quality wicket-keeping options available for India at their disposal.

Fans took note of Sanju Samson's dismal batting returns against Sri Lanka and expressed their reactions by sharing hilarious memes on social media platforms. Here are some of the best ones:

"He has to be given a long run somewhere down the line" - Former Indian pacer Tinu Yohannan on Sanju Samson

Former cricketer Tinu Yohannan recently empathized with Sanju Samson and urged the team management and selectors to give him a longer run, which he never got in his international career so far. In an interview with Revsportz, the former Kerala player analyzed the career graph of Samson in international cricket and said:

"He debuted about 10 years ago and after that he has been (playing) on and off. He didn’t get a long run at any time. Each game is like a do-or-die game for him. Almost every time when he walks out to bat, he goes into pressure situations. He has to be given a long run somewhere down the line. He needs backing."

He added:

"At Royals, he knows what his role is. He also knows it doesn’t matter if he fails. I know, in the Indian team it’s very difficult for him to get a long stretch of games, especially now that Rishabh (Pant) has come back. But then, he needs to be given a long run at some point of time."
