The second round of Duleep Trophy 2024 commenced on Thursday (September 12) in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. India A are squaring off against India D at the Rural Development Trust Stadium. Meanwhile, India B and India C are facing each other at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in the same city.

India A batted first in the third Duleep Trophy match after losing the toss and scored 290 runs. Bowling all-rounders Shams Mulani (89) and Tanush Kotian (53) top-scored for them with half-centuries. Harshit Rana continued to impress by picking up four wickets for Shreyas Iyer-led India D side in the bowling department.

Devdutt Padikkal then played a valiant knock of 92 (124) to help India D get to 183 before they lost all the wickets. Shreyas Iyer failed yet again as he departed for a seven-ball duck, while Sanju Samson got out for 5 (6) in his first outing in the tournament. India A then strengthened their grip on the match by reaching 115/1 at stumps on day two and extended their lead to 222 runs.

In the fourth match, India C notched up a mammoth total of 525 in the first innings after being asked to bat. In his domestic cricket comeback, Ishan Kishan (111) proved his form with an aggressive century on Day 1 for the C side.

Manav Suthar (82), Ruturaj Gaikwad (58), and a couple of other batters also chipped in with useful contributions to help them score a huge total. India B also started off well in response as they got to 124/0 at the stumps on the second day. Openers Abhimanyu Easwaran (51*) and N Jagadeesan (67*) were at the crease at the end of Day 2.
