Kabul Premier League 2024: Top run-getters and wicket-takers after Speenghar Warriors vs Kabul Knight Riders (Updated) ft. Afsar Zazai & AM Ghazanfar

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, the Band-e-Amir Stars met Kabul Zalmi in Qualifier 1 of the Kabul Premier League 2024. Later, the Speenghar Warriors defeated the Kabul Knight Riders in the Eliminator.

Band-e-Amir Stars batted first and were restricted to a mere 128 for nine wickets thanks to Afsar Zazai’s 50 and Haroon Khan’s 39-run knock. AM Ghazanfar was Zalmi’s leading bowler with a three-wicket haul while Ziaur Rahman took two, and Jumadin Sultani and Qais Ahmad picked up one.

In reply, despite losing five wickets, Kabul Zalmi chased down the target in 14.1 overs with Darwish Rasooli’s 31-ball 49-run knock backed by Mohammad Omar’s quick-fire 28 off 18.

In the second game, Usman Noori smashed an excellent century off 56 balls and helped Speenghar Warriors set a massive target of 231 runs. Mohammad Riaz took two wickets for Kabul Knight Riders.

As the game progressed, Yousuf Shah top-scored with 63 for the Knight Riders backed by skipper Riaz Hassan (35), Zubaid Akbari (28), and Asif Khan (26). Despite their commendable efforts, they fell short by 13 runs and were knocked out of the tournament.

Hassan Eisakhil scored 33 runs in the last game, solidifying his top position with a total of 382 runs across six matches. He boasts an impressive average of 63.66 and a strike rate exceeding 220.

Afsar Zazai scored a fifty to retain his second spot with 273 runs in six matches at an average of 54.60. His records include four half-centuries.

Yousuf Shah, who moved from fifth to third place after scoring 63 runs in the previous game, has 260 runs in six matches, averaging 43.33.

Abdul Malik descended to the fourth spot with 208 runs in his account. Similarly, Mohammad Sabir holds the fifth position with 200 runs in six games and a strike rate of 158.73.

Haroon Khan’s 39-run knock got him the sixth spot in the most runs list while Usman Noori scored a century in the Eliminator to occupy the seventh position with 195 runs.

AM Ghazanfar of Kabul Zalmi chipped in with three wickets in the previous encounter and secured the top spot in the most wickets list with 10 wickets. Similarly, Arab Gul also picked up a wicket, taking his tally to 10, to claim the second position.

Ishaq Saqi and Said Khan have bagged nine wickets each and are ranked third and fourth with an average of 8.71 and 10.12, respectively.
