Kaun Banega Crorepati asks a question on Virat Kohli's cricket career

Renowned television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) asked a question with regards to Team India ace batter Virat Kohli's cricket career. The episode was aired today i.e. Friday, September 27.

Famous actor and yesteryear Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is the host of this show. The question he asked to the contestant was as follows:

"Who among these announced his retirement from T20 internationals after the 2024 T20 World Cup?"

The options for the above question were: R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya.

The correct answer to the above question was the third option, Virat Kohli. After winning the Player of the Match award for his 76 off 59 balls with the bat against South Africa in the summit clash, the Indian ace batter announced that it was his last game in the format. Along with Kohli, senior statesman Ravindra Jadeja and skipper Rohit Sharma also announced their retirements from the format.

The question was asked for a sum of ₹20,000 and the contestant got the answer right at the first go. Questions about the sport are a common feature on the show, with a question about the IPL being asked a couple of days ago as well.

Team India ace batter Virat Kohli is a part of the second Test against Bangladesh that is taking place at the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur. In the first Test of the series, Kohli was dismissed for scores of 6 & 17. He will be expected to make a mark in the second game and ensure that he helps Team India complete a sweep over Bangladesh.

Kohli last played in blue for Team India in the ODI leg of the Sri Lanka tour in August. He had a poor outing in the island nation, scoring only 58 runs across three innings.
