KBC special guest Nana Patekar posed a query on Indian cricketers with most Test centuries

Popular television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) featured a question regarding Indians in the top 10 cricketers with the most Test centuries. It was a special episode where Bollywood actor Nana Patekar appeared as the guest. The episode was aired on Friday, December 13.

Well-known and widely loved Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who hosts the show, posed the question to Nana Patekar:

"Other than Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, who is the third Indian in the top 10 cricketers with the most Test centuries?"

The four options for the above question were - Ajinkya Rahane, Yuvraj Singh, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Sunil Gavaskar. The correct answer to the question is Sunil Gavaskar. Sachin Tendulkar is at the top with 51 Test hundreds. With 36 tons, Rahul Dravid is in the sixth position. Meanwhile, Sunil Gavaskar with 34 hundreds is placed eighth, being the third Indian in the top 10 behind Dravid and Sachin.

Nana Patekar did not use any lifeline for this question and easily answered it without much hesitation. KBC is known for asking several sports-related questions, with cricket-based questions very commonly featured on the show.

What is Sunil Gavaskar's Test record?

Among India's greatest players in the history of the game, Sunil Gavaskar made his debut in the longest format in 1971 against the West Indies. His final Test came against Pakistan in 1987.

Gavaskar played 125 Tests for India in his career and batted in 214 innings. He remains among India's prolific run-getters in the format, amassing 10122 runs at an average of 51.12.

As mentioned earlier, he slammed 34 hundreds in the format for India along with 45 half-centuries. Gavaskar's highest individual score in the format is a brilliant unbeaten double-hundred when he scored 236 not out.
