“Kind of I dreamt of in the 90s” - Sanjay Manjrekar lauds India’s domination in IND vs BAN 2024 1st Test
Former player-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar was impressed with the Indian team's performance so far in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh. The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is hosting this encounter.
Although India got off to a bad start on Day 1, they were back on track with a 62-run stand between Yashasvi Jaiswal (56) and Rishabh Pant (39). Thereafter, experienced spin all-rounders, Ravichandran Ashwin (113) and Ravindra Jadeja (86) were sensational to drive the team's score to 376.
In response, Bangladesh were in a spot of bother with Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep creating havoc with pitch-perfect line and length. Mohammed Siraj was also impressive to take the wicket of skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto. Jadeja broke the blossoming 51-run stand between Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan by taking their wickets in consecutive overs.
Following India's terrific bowling performance, Manjrekar took to X to heap praise on the Rohit Sharma-led side. As per the 59-year-old, he dreamt of such domination by Team India during his playing career in the 90s.
"What a side India has become! The kind I dreamt of as India player in the 90s.🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️"
