"Kya mast chance aaya hai Australia ko bahar kar ke revenge lene ka"- Top 10 funny memes after Afghanistan's historic win vs Australia in 2024 T20 WC
Afghanistan beat Australia by 21 runs in the 48th match of the 2024 T20 World Cup on Saturday (June 22) at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent. It was a historic moment for Afghanistan as they registered their first-ever win against Australia in international cricket.
After being asked to bat first, Afghanistan managed to score a respectable total of 148/6 in 20 overs on a tricky surface. Openers Ibrahim Zadran (51) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (60) starred for them in the batting department by stitching a 118-run partnership. Aussie pacer Pat Cummins picked up a hat-trick in the second consecutive game. He missed out on an opportunity to have four in a row after David Warner dropped a catch in the deep.
Gulbadin Naib (4/20) and Naveen-ul-Haq (3/20) bowled magnificent spells in the second innings and helped Afghanistan bundle out Australia for 127 in 19.2 overs. Glenn Maxwell (59) waged a lone battle for them, but failed to take them over the line like he did in the 50-over World Cup last year against the same opposition.
