“Loyalty and respect is a give and take” – Robin Uthappa takes sly dig at KKR, roasts Twitter user with epic response

Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa roasted a fan for a controversial tweet during the ongoing match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans on Tuesday, May 23. The development came after a user questioned his loyalty towards the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In a befitting reply, Uthappa said that loyalty and respect are mutual.

Uthappa first shared a picture with his son wearing yellow jerseys in support of CSK. He captioned the post:

“Let’s go @ChennaiIPL!!”

In response, a user replied:

“Bro played one-two seasons with Chennai and sold his soul I have never seen him supporting Kkr like this.”

Uthappa reacted:

“Loyalty and respect is a give and take my friend!!”

For the uninitiated, Uthappa has represented six franchises in IPL. The right-handed batter played for KKR from 2014 to 2019. He also lifted the IPL trophy during his first season with the Kolkata-based franchise when the team won their second title.

Uthappa was then bought by Rajasthan Royals (RR) during IPL 2020 before being transferred to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He played for the latter team for the next two seasons before announcing his retirement. He was part of the Super Kings' winning team when they lifted their fourth IPL trophy in 2021.

The Karnataka batter then produced a match-winning performance for CSK during his limited opportunities for the franchise. He scored 63 off 44 balls against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Qualifier and then remained unbeaten on 31 off 15 as CSK won the IPL 2021 final by 27 runs.

The 37-year-old recently announced his retirement, to play for India Maharajas in the Legends League Cricket Masters in March. He turned back the clock with his unbeaten 88 off 39 balls against Asia Lions during the tournament.

Robin Uthappa is currently part of Jio Cinema’s commentary team.
