"May you continue to inspire all of us" - KL Rahul shares birthday wish for father-in-law Suniel Shetty
Team India's wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul shared an Instagram story to wish his father-in-law Suniel Shetty a happy birthday. The popular Bollywood actor celebrated his 63rd birthday on Sunday, August 11.
Rahul shared a picture of himself posing alongside Suniel and brother-in-law Ahan Shetty on his Instagram story. Wishing the veteran actor on his special day, the cricket star wrote:
"Happy birthday. May you continue to inspire all of us."
KL Rahul tied the knot with Bollywood actress and Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty on January 23, 2023. The wedding took place at Shetty's bungalow in Khandala, Maharashtra.
KL Rahul was left out of India's playing XI for third ODI of recently concluded Sri Lanka series
Rahul was part of India's ODI squad for the recently concluded away-from-home series against Sri Lanka. Chasing 231 in the first match, the right-handed batter got off to a decent start but failed to convert it into a big score.
The 32-year-old scored 31 runs off 43 balls before falling to Wanindu Hasaranga. The game ended in a tie, with both India and Sri Lanka finishing at 230 after their respective innings.
Rahul was asked to bat at No. 7 in the subsequent fixture. It was a forgettable outing for him as he bagged a two-ball duck. The visitors suffered a 32-run defeat in the second ODI.
The senior player was left out of the playing XI for the third and final contest, with Rishabh Pant replacing him in the lineup. Pant was dismissed for just six runs. Sri Lanka clinched a comprehensive 110-run victory to complete a 2-0 series win, their first ODI series victory over India in 27 years.
The Indian team will be in action next month when they host Bangladesh for two Tests and three T20Is. The Test series is set to begin on September 19 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai
