"Maybe its God's plan” – Nitish Kumar Reddy shares his conversation with Rinku Singh before unlocking power game in 2024 IND vs BAN 2nd T20I

Nitish Reddy revealed the details of his conversation with Rinku Singh, which helped him unleash his power game in the second T20I between India and Bangladesh. Reddy said that words of wisdom from Rinku Singh helped him showcase his natural game.

Notably, Nitish was playing on 12 runs off 11 balls at the end of the eighth over. The 21-year-old then hit two consecutive boundaries off Mahmudullah before hitting back-to-back sixes off Rishad Hossain in the 10th over. The right-handed batter eventually departed for 74 runs off 34 balls, an innings laced with seven sixes and four boundaries.

Speaking to BCCI, Reddy said:

“The conversation between us was he said, 'Maybe its God's plan.' We just believed it and started hitting the balls. When we saw that the spinner came into the attack, we decided to take him. Rinku took a single and gave me the strike and I decided to go after him saying it's my time.”

During his knock, Reddy also shared a 108-run partnership with Rinku Singh for the fourth wicket to recover the Men in Blue from 41/3.

“He has batted really well in his second only T20I game” – Rinku Singh heaps praise on Nitish Kumar Reddy

Rinku Singh further lauded Nitish Kumar Reddy for playing a blistering knock in only his second T20I, that too under pressure. The southpaw also expressed gratitude for his half-century. He said in the same video:

“I just said to him it's God's plan bro. Just leave it onto God, and we'll see and he started hitting it. He has batted really well in his only second T20I game.”
“This is my 3rd 50 and it comes again at a time when wickets have fallen quickly for the team. Since I have started playing for India, we have won all the series I have been a part of. So, I just wish to be a part of this side for a long time and we keep winning,” Rinku added.

Rinku, in particular, scored 53 runs off 29 balls with the aid of three sixes and five boundaries.

With the 86-run victory, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side registered back-to-back series wins against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The third T20I or dead rubber will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday, October 12.
