Shaheen Afridi provided a good start to the visiting side by dismissing both the Australian openers inside the first powerplay. Haris Rauf utilized the platform and bowled magnificently in the middle phase, picking up a five-wicket haul to bundle out Australia for 163 in 35 overs. Steven Smith (35) was the only one to cross 20 runs in the Aussie batting line-up.

Saim Ayub (82) and Abdullah Shafique (64*) then put on a 137-run opening partnership and powered their side towards the target without any hassles. After Saim departed in the final stages, Babar Azam walked in and finished the game in style with a six in the 27th over.

"This was one of our worst days"- Australia captain Pat Cummins after loss vs Pakistan in 2nd ODI

At the post-match presentation, Australian skipper Pat Cummins reflected on the disappointing loss and said:

"Wasn't one of our best. We've been pretty good of late but this was one of our worst days. I think they bowled well but we could've found better ways to score. You know you are up against it (in the second innings) but there was seam movement around and we could've got some edges and taken some catches but it wasn't to be."

On his advice to Josh Inglis, captain for the final ODI, and his preparations for the BGT series, Cummins added:

"I'll leave him to (Inglis), he's a great thinker of the game. I've got a week at home. Some practice on the centre wicket for a week and then travel to Perth a week before. Mind now switches to the red-ball."

Pakistan and Australia will now travel to Perth for the series-deciding 3rd ODI, which will be held on Sunday, November 10.
