Mumbai Indians (MI) have retained 14 players and released four ahead of the WPL 2025 auction. The team, which won the inaugural WPL in 2023 and made the Eliminator in 2024, has retained its core squad.
Apart from skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, MI have retained Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Pooja Vastrakar, Yastika Bhatia, Amelia Kerr, Chloe Tryon, Jintimani Kalita, S Sajana, Shabnim Ismail, Saika Ishaque, Amanjot Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, and Keerthana Balakrishnan.
Surprisingly, Issy Wong, the first player to take a hat-trick in the WPL, has been released by MI along with Humaira Kazi, Fatima Jaffer and Priyanka Bala.

MI purse for WPL 2025 Auction
Following retentions, Mumbai Indians have a purse of ₹2.65 crore left for the WPL 2025 auction. As per reports, all five teams have been given a purse of ₹15 crore.
Each franchise can have a maximum of 18 players in their squad for WPL 2025, which includes a maximum of six overseas players.
Mumbai Indians were winners of the inaugural Women's Premier League in 2023. They hammered Delhi Capitals (DC) by seven wickets in the final at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. In WPL 2024, they went down to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by five runs in the Eliminator at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
