MI vs RCB, IPL 2023: List of Impact Players in today’s match

The Mumbai Indians (MI) have won the toss and chosen to bowl first against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 54th match of IPL 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, May 9.

Senior all-rounder Chris Jordan, who replaced the injured Jofra Archer, is all set to make his MI debut today. RCB have also made one change to their squad, bringing in pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak in place of leg-spinner Karn Sharma.

Here is the list of substitute players for the match:

Mumbai Indians: Ramandeep Singh , Tristan Stubbs, Vishnu Vinod, Sandeep Warrier, and Raghav Goyal.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Kedar Jadhav, Michael Bracewell, Suyash Prabhudessai, Karn Sharma, and Shahbaz Ahmed.

RCB were the first team to use the Impact Player sub, bringing in batter Kedar Jadhav in place of Mahipal Lomror.

Speaking at the toss, MI skipper Rohit Sharma backed his side to chase, predicting that the wicket would remain the same throughout the game.

"We are going to bowl first," Rohit stated. "It's been good for us, we have chased down targets here, it's a good pitch. Looks like a typical Mumbai pitch with even grass covering and also a few patches.
"Not sure how it's going to play, but we are hoping for the best," he added. "We understand the importance of this game, but what's in our control is in our control. We need to play good cricket, rest will take care of itself. Archer is out, we got Jordan, he will make his debut today."

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis also stressed that they wanted to chase on this ground, with the record favoring the teams batting second.

"Generally, you chase here because of the nature of this ground," du Plessis said. "Big score always creates the scoreboard pressure. They have a good batting line-up, hopefully, we get wickets in their innings. There are a lot of teams in the race for that third and fourth spot, we need to play good cricket. One change for us, Vyshak comes in for Karn Sharma."
