"Most unluckiest cricketer ever" - Fans react as Virat Kohli falls prey to wrong decision in IND vs BAN 2024 1st Test
Virat Kohli fell victim to a wrong decision as he decided against review in the opening Test between India and Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Day 2 (Friday, September 20). The right-handed batter was adjudged LBW out by the on-field umpire Richard Kettleborough for 17 runs off 37 balls as the hosts were reduced to 67/3.
The incident took place in the 20th over of India's second innings. Mehidy Hasan Miraz bowled a full-length ball and Kohli got forward to clip it through the on-side but got beaten on the inside edge to get trapped low on the front pad adjacent to the off-stump. That looked plumb but there was an inside edge and even Kohli wasn't aware.
The senior batter asked his batting partner Shubman Gill about the trajectory and not regarding the inside edge. Kohli looked convinced after asking Gill.
Kohli previously departed for run-a-ball six in the first innings.
Fans on X were disappointed with Virat Kohli's flop show with the bat. One user wrote:
