Mumbai weather forecast November 1: What are the chances of rain on Day 1 of the 3rd IND vs NZ 2024 Test?

Team India will look to avoid an unexpected whitewash when they take on New Zealand in the third and final Test, which begins at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, November 1. Having thumped Bangladesh with ease in the preceding series, India went into the contest against the Kiwis at home as firm favorites, only to be given a rude reality check.

After a disastrous performance in Bengaluru, which saw them being shot out for 46 in the first innings, a much-improved show was expected of the hosts in Pune. And while they did not suffer a batting collapse of the same magnitude as Bengaluru, there was still a sense of deja vu as a well-prepared New Zealand outfit caught India off guard for the second game in a row.

India's big guns under the scanner ahead of the Mumbai Test

Team India's first Test series loss at home in 12 years has coincided with the poor performances of their big names. Skipper Rohit Sharma has managed only 62 runs from four innings, while Virat Kohli (88 runs from four innings) has done only slightly better.

In the bowling department, the seasoned spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja has failed to live up to expectations. Both the bowlers have managed to pick up only six wickets each, averaging 43.50 and 37.50, respectively.
