“Nice shades” – Rishabh Pant engages in banter on Mohammed Siraj’s latest Instagram post

The 2024 T20 World Cup-winning players Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Siraj engaged in banter with each other on Monday, July 15. That came as Siraj dropped a trendy picture on social media, wearing all black with white-blue sneakers, red glasses, and a colorful umbrella while posing in front of a luxury car, seemingly a BMW. Notably, the two players share a great camaraderie on and off the field.

The banter comes days after Siraj and Axar Patel roasted Rishabh Pant for posting with the winner’s medal from the T20 World Cup, citing they too have the same thing.

Here’s how the conversation unfolded:

Siraj shared the picture and wrote on his Instagram post:

“Stormy weather, cozy heart.”

On the professional front, Mohammed Siraj bagged one wicket in his three appearances at the T20 World Cup. The speedster was rested for the recently concluded T20I series in Zimbabwe.

Siraj received a hero’s welcome in his hometown of Hyderabad after winning the ICC trophy with the Men in Blue. The 30-year-old was also felicitated by Hyderabad Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Mohammed Siraj in spotlight as India set to play T20I and ODI series in Sri Lanka

Mohammed Siraj will be up against his favorite opposition as India are set to tour Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I and as many ODI series. Siraj had destroyed the Islanders at the 2023 Asia Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup.

The Hyderabad-born pacer returned with his career-best figures of 6/21 as Lanka were bundled out for a modest total of 50 in the Asia Cup final. He then finished with figures of 3/16 against the same team in the 50-over World Cup, where they were bowled out for 55.

However, Siraj has failed to translate his ODI success in T20Is, managing just 13 wickets in as many games. Thus, he will be keen to deliver in the upcoming T20I series. The BCCI, however, is yet to announce the squad for the white-ball series, which begins on July 27.

The Sri Lanka tour will also mark the beginning of new head coach Gautam Gambhir’s era in Indian cricket. Gambhir has signed a three-and-a-half-year-long contract with the BCCI.
