Ravindra Jadeja delivered with the bat for India against Bangladesh in the first of the two-Test series at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday, September 19. The left-handed batter stayed unbeaten on 86 runs off 117 balls, an innings laced with two sixes and 10 boundaries. He also shared an unbeaten 195-run partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin for the seventh wicket after the hosts were reduced to 144-6.
Jadeja enjoys impressive numbers in Test cricket, having amassed 3122 runs, comprising four tons so far. His highest score is an unbeaten 175 against Sri Lanka in Mohali in 2022.

Ravichandran Ashwin heaped praise on Ravindra Jadeja following their 195-run partnership against Bangladesh. He said at stumps on Day 1 (via Cricbuzz):
"Jaddu has been one of our best batters for our team in the last few years. Him being there, pretty solid and he was also very helpful in terms of telling me that we don't have to convert twos into threes which was really helpful for me."
"He (Jadeja) was of real help, there was a point in time where I was really sweating and getting a bit tired, Jaddu noticed it quickly and guided me through that phase," he added.
