"No one greater who has played all three formats" - Ramiz Raja's ultimate praise for Jasprit Bumrah

Former Pakistan opening batter Ramiz Raja heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah for transforming himself into a world-class fast bowler across formats. The former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman observed how well the right-arm pacer has found his way back from a series of injuries.

The tearaway speedster was central to Team India's recent T20 World Cup 2024, living up to the billing as their most reliable bowler. In eight matches, the 30-year-old bagged 15 wickets at 8.27 alongside an outstanding economy rate of 4.18. In the process, he also claimed the Player of the Tournament award.

In his latest YouTube video, Ramiz claimed there is no greater bowler than the Indian paceman in history to have played all the formats. He said:

"In my book, Jasprit Bumrah is a legend in all three formats. There is no one greater who has played all three formats. So you can see where this boy came from, he lacked confidence and had an awkward bowling action. He was unfit, but he came back, and now he has made India win the World Cup."

The Ahmedabad-born speedster suffered a serious back injury in mid-2022, forcing him to miss nearly a year of international cricket. He returned during the Ireland tour last year and hasn't looked back since.

Meanwhile, Bumrah's efforts also led to him winning the ICC Player of the Month award in June. On winning the award, he said, as quoted by ICC:

"I am delighted to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for June. It’s a special honor for me following a memorable few weeks spent in the USA and West Indies.
"We have had a lot to celebrate as a team and I’m delighted to be able to add this personal accolade to the list. To perform as well as we did at the tournament and lift the trophy at the end is incredibly special and I will carry those memories with me forever."

The right-arm speedster is likely to next be in action during the Sri Lanka tour this month when India plays three ODIs and as many T20Is.
