"None of this would remotely be possible without you my love"- Virat Kohli dedicates 2024 T20 World Cup victory to Anushka Sharma

Team India stalwart Virat Kohli dedicated a touching note to his wife, Anushka Sharma, after the 2024 T20 World Cup victory. The Men in Blue became two-time World Champions in the shortest format by defeating South Africa in the final on Saturday (June 29) at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Virat completed his trophy collection in white ball cricket with this triumph, as he previously won the ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013. World Test Championship (WTC) mace remains the only one missing from his cabinet.

Kohli had a quiet tournament with the bat until the final. However, he was ready when the team needed him the most in the summit clash. After opting to bat first, India collapsed to 34/3 and found themselves in deep trouble. Virat Kohli shouldered the responsibility at this juncture and played a responsible knock of 76 (59) to take India to a respectable total of 176.

His stability helped the likes of Axar Patel (47) and Shivam Dube (27) to play freely and hit big shots at the other end. Hardik Pandya (3/20), Jasprit Bumrah (2/18) and Arshdeep Singh (2/20) then bowled sensational spells to restrict South Africa to 169/8 and take India over the line.

Virat Kohli took to his official Instagram handle and celebrated the triumph with Anushka Sharma by penning an emotional note for her. He wrote:

"None of this would remotely be possible without you my love. You keep me humble, grounded and you always say it how it is with absolute honesty. I couldn’t be more grateful for you. This victory is as much yours as it’s mine. Thank you and I love you for being YOU ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ @anushkasharma"
