South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi replied to one of the accounts on his social media regarding the player's presence in the upcoming IPL auction. The interaction took place on Monday, November 18.
Shamsi has been a prolific wicket-taker for the Proteas and in the franchise leagues. The former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player has represented South Africa in 70 T20Is, picking up 89 wickets. On Sunday, November 17, Shamsi took to his official account on X and drew similarities between his and Team India spearhead Jasprit Bumrah's numbers. Here is what the post read:
"Fun fact... Jasprit Bumrah and I have played the exact same amount of T20 international games. Bowled the exact same number of balls in those games and took the exact same amount of wickets! Such a crazy coincidence"
An account on social media platform X mentioned the post and said:
"IPL Auction in a week's time.Such a crazy coincidence, eh? @shamsi90 😉"
Shamsi replied:
"This happened with over 7 years of hard work and giving my all for my country so I'm not sure what you're going on about.... eh? Not everyone's world revolves around the IPL auction. I'm pretty content with my life... whatever is written for us will always come to us"
