"Not looking forward to the next 36 hours" - Jonty Rhodes details flying ordeal on social media

South African legend Jonty Rhodes has shared a post on X detailing his poor flying experience. He claimed that not only was his Air India flight from Mumbai to Delhi delayed by over an hour and a half but added that he was even made to sign a waiver, saying that he was fine with his seat being broken.

Over the last few years, a lot of celebrities, including showbiz personalities, sportspersons and entrepreneurs, have taken the social media route to vent their ire over poor services offered by airline companies. On Thursday, August 30, Rhodes did the same.

In a tweet, Rhodes lashed out at Air India. Providing details of his ordeal with the airlines, Rhodes wrote:

"My flying bad luck continues - not only is my @airindia flight from Mumbai to Delhi over 1.5hrs delayed, but now I just signed a waiver as I board stating I accept that my seat is broken 😠 #whyme 😂 Not looking forward to the next 36hrs with a return to Mumbai from Delhi and straight onto my @flyethiopian return flight to Cape Town #मुकद्दर."

Air India's X handle replied to the Proteas cricket legend and commented:

"Dear Sir, we regret to hear about your experience. Rest assured, we will thoroughly investigate your concern and ensure your feedback is shared internally."

Cricket fans responded to Rhodes' tweet, with reactions ranging from humorous to some rather serious ones. While one user felt sorry for the former cricketer, another quipped that only he can spring out of a broken seat.

Jonty Rhodes is credited with revolutionizing fielding in international cricket

The name Rhodes is synonymous with fielding in world cricket. In the 90s and early 2000s, he was widely regarded as the greatest fielder in the game.

The former cricketer represented South Africa in 52 Tests and 245 ODIs between 1992 and 2003, scoring 2532 and 5935 runs respectively. The right-handed batter notched up three tons in Test cricket and two in the one-day format.

In the field, he picked up 34 catches in Test matches and 105 in one-dayers, apart from effecting some brilliant run outs. Post-retirement, he took to coaching. Rhodes was appointed as IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants' assistant coach ahead of the 2023 season.
