"One of the best patches of Virat Kohli is yet to come” - Astrologer predicts how long the batting superstar will play
As per astrologer Greenstone Lobo, Virat Kohli will play for the Indian team at least till 2027. His comments came during Kohli's horoscope analysis on the first episode of TOI's series StarPlay: Cricket & Astrology.
Earlier this year, Kohli retired from the shortest format after playing a match-winning knock of 76 in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa. He ended his T20I career as the second-highest scorer with 4,188 runs in 125 games.
However, the 36-year-old endured a disappointing run in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand. He garnered only 93 runs in six innings, as the Black Caps went on to secure a historic 3-0 clean sweep.
Amid his struggles in the red-ball format, there has been uncertainty around the right-hander's presence in the setup depending on his performance in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Moreover, Kohli struggled in the ODI series against Sri Lanka as well, accounting for only 58 runs in three innings.
Nevertheless, astrologer Greenstone Lobo put all speculation to rest and predicted that Virat Kohli would play international cricket for the next three years. He said:
"One of the main questions that people ask me these days is how long will Virat Kohli play? This is not a question of concern but (it) comes out of love and curiosity. People want to know how long will Virat Kohli play and how long will they be able to enjoy his brilliance.
"So, for all the Virat Kohli fans out there, let me tell you one thing. Let me assure you one thing. Virat Kohli is going to be there at least till 2027,” he added.
According to Lobo, Kohli (29) will surpass the number of Test centuries scored by Sunil Gavaskar (34) and Rahul Dravid (36).
"One of the best patches of Virat Kohli is yet to come. Does it mean that Kohli is going to beat the record of Sachin Tendulkar? Maybe not. That tally of 49-plus (51) Test centuries is very, very steep. So maybe it would be difficult for him to achieve but then Virat Kohli can definitely go beyond Sunil Gavaskar and even Rahul Dravid,” he added.
Astrologer predicts Virat Kohli's performance in BGT 2024/25
Astrologer Greenstone Lobo also touched on the topic of Virat Kohli's form in the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). The much-awaited five-match Test series between India and Australia will kick off on November 22 in Perth.
As per Lobo, the favorable planetary position might help Kohli to have an impressive run in the BGT. He said:
"He is going to perform brilliantly well because Uranus, which has gone debilitated in the last few months is going to come back into exaltation exactly on November 15th and it's going to stay there throughout this entire tournament. One important thing I can say (for now) is that Down Under Virat Kohli is definitely going to play some very interesting roles."
Among the squad members, Virat Kohli has scored the most runs in BGT history. He has amassed 1,979 runs in 24 games at an average of 48.26 with eight centuries to his name.
